Noutăți ARA 2021
Academia Româno-Americană de Arte și Științe a făcut o pauză în 2020, dat fiind pandemia, dar își continuă foarte intens activitatea în 2021 cu numeroase activități.

· Pe 20 mai 2021 va avea loc MiniSimpozionul Zoom: “Smaranda Brăescu- Lasați-mă să Zbor” despre parașutista și femeia-pilot româncă, care a obținut două succese impresionante, recordurile la saltul cu parașuta: recordul internațional feminin, 6000 m în Câmpia Bărăganului, România (1931) și premiul international, record absolut (masculin și feminin) 7.233 m la Sacramento, California, USA (1932).

· Pe 17 Martie 2021 a fost organizat evenimentul Zoom: Ana Blandiana în literatură și film, (moderatoare Ileana Costea și organizatori: Ileana Costea și Andrei Zincă). Evenimentul a fost inițiat datorită a două realizări de anul acesta: lansarea cărții “Dumnezeu pe Role”/”God on Roller Skates”, carte cu poezii de Ana Blandiana din volumul “Patria mea A4”, cu ilustrații de artistul american Jerry W. Mc Daniel, carte publicată de Ileana Costea (editor) si Doina Țetcu (coeditor) și premiera americană a filmului de lung metraj “Și atunci ce e libertatea?”/ “So What’s Fredom” (scenariu și regie Andrei Zincă).

La evenimentul cu și despre Ana Blandiana au fost în audiență 119 participanți din România, SUA, Europe de Vest si Australia; a fost un eveniment de mare scuces. Invitația la eveniment a fost postată pe pagina web a ARA (https://main.ara-as.org).

· Pe 9 iunie 2021 va avea loc MiniSimpozionul Zoom “În Memoriam – Gh. Mateescu, artizanul Societății de Rezonanță Magnetică în Medicină din România”, organizat de Dr. Oana Leonte cu contributia sotiei Profesorului Gh.Mateescu, Ing. Claudia Mateescu și sponzorizat de mai multe organizații profesionale din România și SUA. Invitația preliminară cu linkul Zoom este atașată, iar cei interesați sunt rugati sa confirme participarea la adresa , dupa care vor primi si invitația cu programul final.
· Pe 26 iulie 2021 va avea loc MiniSimpozionul Zoom Omagial “Academician Profesor Constantin Corduneanu”, Președinte ARA în două legislaturi, cu ocazia comemorării zilei sale de naștere
· În luna august 2021, va avea loc un MiniSimpozion de Literatură și Lingvistică. Detaliile vor fi anunțate curând. Cei ce ar fi interesați să facă prezentări la acest simpozion (programul este în curs de a fi stabilit) pot scrie la .

News ARA 2021
The Romanian American Academy of Arts and Sciences took a break in 2021 because of the pandemic, but it continues its activity at full speed on Zoom in 2021 with numerous “theme” events.
- On March 17, 2021, the Zoom Event Ana Blandiana in literature and film took place. It had a large attendance, 119 people from Romania, the US, and Europe. It was organized by Ileana Costea and Andrei Zinca. The event was initiated due to two achievements this year: 1. the launching of the book God on Roller Skates (in English) and in Romanian with the title “Dumnezeu pe role”, a book with poems by Ana Blandiana from the Volume “My Homeland A4”, and illustrations by the well-known American artist Jerry W. Mc Daniel. The book was conceived by Ileana Costea (Editor) and published in collaboration with Doina Țetcu (Consultant Editor). 2. The American premiere of Andrei Zincă’s (director, who also wrote the scenario) feature film “So what is freedom?” about the deportations to Baragan in communist Romania in 1951. The movie obtained the Prize of the Public at TIFF film festival in Cluj, in June 2020 and the “Cream” Award at SEEFest (South East European Film Festival) in May 2021.

- On May 20, 2021, you will be able to attend the Zoom Symposium “Smaranda Braescu, Romanian parachutist”. She achieved unprecedented successes in parachute jumping: the international women’s record, 6000m in the Baragan plain, Romania (1931) and the absolute international record (male and female record) 7233 m in Sacramento, California, USA (1932). The organizers of the event are: Retired Aviation Commander Laurentiu Buzenchi, Eng. Nick Suciu, Prof. Ileana Costea, Ph. D; Technical and event promotion consultant: Teodor Stan, Immigration Research Forum. The invitation to this event is attached to this email. - On June 9, 2021 will take place the Zoom mini-symposium, “In Memoriam – Gh. Mateescu, the artisan of the Romanian Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine”, organized by Dr. Oana Leonte with the in-kind support of Professor Gh. Mateescu’s wife, Ing. Claudia Mateescu, and sponsored by a few Romanian and USA Professional Societies. The attached invitation includes the Zoom link to the event. Those interested are asked to confirm the attendance to the address and will receive the detailed final program.
- On July 26, 2021you are invited to attend the Mini-Symposium Honoring Academician Professor Constantin Corduneanu, ARA President with two tenures, on his Birthday commemoration.
- In August 2021, a symposium on Literature and Linguistics will be held. Details will be announced soon. Those who would be interested in making presentations at this symposium (its program is not yet established) could write to the current president at .
